Fired black powder ball?

Found this the other day next to an big old tree in back yard a few inches down. It has been awhile since I shot a black powder revolver. Just curious what others think.

You're probably right. There is a deformed ball shape but then got that rooster tail. Now that I think of it that sort of thing would be unlikely from shooting.
