How about a picture of that quarter!

ill try and post one soon, tryed with my camera but can't focus on it, ill dig out my scanner and give it a try, hardly any details are visible though.

Nice!
Barber Quarters (1892-1916) have stars around the edge. Hope that's one of them!

i don't know why it came out brown when i scanned it, it is silver. took a look at the barber sure not that kind. not much one it to idenify it

I don't think it is a barber quarter. The reverse has flowers around the rim that the barber quarter doesn't. The flowers around the rim make me think Canada but the design in the middle is confusing me along with the stars around the obverse. Do you have a better scan?

Or maybe a yo quiero...

Looks like a dog or sumptin'.

you sure thats an american coin?

This is quite a mystery! No US quarter has a five-point star so that rules out American coinage.

Yup, Egypt is it. Good detective work rscottbc! It looks like it's from the reign of Abdul Hamid II, and from the size of the flowers it's probably 1898-1909. Since the date's worn off we'll never know. Great find, and one of the oldest foreign this year!

Could you post pictures of the 1909 penny? You might have a good find there ;)
