Clad the Impaler
Hero Member
Hi everyone!! Wow am I tired...2 days of intense woods hunting have paid off in a BIG way!! Dug my first Barber quarter today!! A nice 1897, it's also my oldest silver coin to date (beating last years 1898 Barber dime). Two day totals (in addition to the quarter) included a 1917 buffalo nickel (my 4th in the last month and also my oldest), 5 wheats ('10, '17d, '36, '42, '53d), possible old lipstick tube and compact w/ most of the gold coloring still on it, 2 old eating utensils, 5 bullets, 2 mini balls, and $1.01 in clad (bringing my 2011 clad total to a whopping $48.97 so far...). I have only had my E-Trac about a month, and have found silver items on 7 of 16 outings with it (2x jewelry and 5x coins). My silver coin total so far this year is already 9 (fantastic considering that in all of 2010 I totaled 17 silver coins w/ my Ace 250). The Barber quarter was my deepest silver coin ever dug, somewhere between 6 and 8 inches down (I'm just glad I didn't scratch it with my Lesche). Pics below. Enjoy!! My vacation is shaping up to be a great one!!
