Hey guys - I am new to the beach page but figured I should get familiar with it since I am changing styles now. I just moved to California from Chicago and although I had Lake Michigan beaches to hunt, I preferred the older parks for old coins and relics.

It's been at least a year and a half since I've hunted sand so I busted out the old ACE250 and got to work. It worked great for dry sand but I think I need a bigger coil as there is a LOT of ground to cover.

Didn't score much but at least its enough for a load of laundry and the bus token is great!

Enjoy the pics and happy hunting!

Welcome to California, now go home......I'm just kidding. :occasion14:
I use my 250 on the dry sand on SoCal beaches with pretty good luck (sometimes)
I just use the standard coil.
I use a PI for the wet and water.
Looks like you had a good day, coin wise.
Good luck.

I also have a Garrett Ace 250 and I am using it on what little sandy beach we have around Seattle. From your pictures it looks like you had a good haul. I've not had much luck with the 250 in wet sand - to much noise to get a good signal. EK

I used to do that in long beach when i was about 13 i used to take the jewlery i would find and sell it to the pawn shop and the change well i would use for myself. Lol i am now wanting to get back in it.

Hey Fred - thanks for the welcome... sorry but I am here to stay at least for 2 years! Plenty of beach to go around it seems. I am in Santa Monica and car-less so I'll only be at this beach or bringing my etrac to east LA parks if I can take a bus over there. Would love to hunt with others if you ever get up here to SM. I am planning to get snorkled up with an excal and try hunting the surf.

Happy Hunting!
