first bell

I have no idea how to date them or even what they are made out of. Found 6-7inches down. About 15 feet from 1815 house. Any ideas?

Bout all I know is its called a crotal bell. Hung on harness. Looks to be in awesome shape. Does it still ring? Later Clyde

Nice crotal bell there one if my favorite things to find. It's most likely mid 19th century.

Congrats on your first bell! Am still looking for my first intact crotal here, they just don't survive in the fields it seems.
