I'm considering ordering my first box. I have limited $ to work with so it may just be a Nickel box. Is this really worth it or should I save up and search something else?

I do nickels mostly or halves if they got em. But i find the war nickels to be the most overlooked silver coin. A silver dime is only worth 40 cents more then a war nickel.

If you have a limited amount of money to work with then nickels are the cheapest way to box search for silver. Plus if you like nickels there are a lot of other nic's to look for other than silver like buffaloes, pre-'60's Jefferson's (non-silver), '09's and Canadians which can be worth almost twice face if they are pre-'82's I think. But nickels aren't for everyone because you can't edge search and most of the non-silver Jefferson's don't have too much value. But you could just buy a box and see if you like it or not and what kind of luck you might have. That's probably the only way to find out for sure. I like nic's myself and I bought some more rolls today. I've been having some good luck finding some nice full date buff's with S & S rolls lately and I want to see if my luck continues.

Good luck and HH

There's alot of people who say nickels aren't worth it, but I say if your having fun then it must be worth it. I love doing nickels, sure your not likely to hit a ton of silver, but there plenty of other goodies to be found.

Nickels are cool to search and you could find all kinds of goodies. You can also get 4 penny boxes for the same price as a nickel box and you can hunt for wheats and IHs. You probably won't find any silver (unless an elusive Rosie is misplaced in the CWRs) but you can have some fun. It's all in what floats your boat! :icon_thumleft:
