Detector(s) used
Excal 1000, Nox 800
I have mostly done beach detecting, but I am recently trying out some yards and fields. My mother-in-law's house was built in the 1960's so I don't expect too much old stuff there. There is a farm field behind it that is now town property. I searched a little around the house and also out back in the field. Didn't have too much time, but I found nails and a big washer, and pieces of aluminum siding scrap near the house. Also a memorial penny that is pretty toasted. Out in the field I found some more nails, and some chucks that look like rocks, but they trigger the detector. Maybe meteorites? Most interesting to me was a small button with a backmark. Unfortunately, it is pretty flakey, and it's bent. Can anyone estimate the age of the button from the style?

Anyhow, hopefully I will be finding more stuff worth posting!

Nice job on the button. If you can read the back mark and post it, someone may be able to help you age the button. The more info you supply, the better your chances are for an ID.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!
