Greetings:

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I didn't get out as much as I would have liked, but did go out to the freshly hayed field of our farmhouse and found this. Is it an early button? If so, its my first!

The house is from 1816, but the site had some activity before that.

Thanks everyone!

I'd say yes - can't tell much in detail from the pics, but it appears to be. Congrats! :occasion14:

It appears to be a nice flat button, congratulations! :occasion14:

That button is a great sign of a good site. I love finding flat buttons. Should be more good stuff there. Good luck!

That's a nice button, too bad the shank is gone. My guess would be late 1700's to early 1800's.

I agree that its a flat button. May be more of a Tombac button. I remember my first. Wait til you find one with gold on it. I went crazy then. Can you read anything on the back? If you can you may be able to research it more in depth

How exciting! I love finding buttons too. Happy hunting.

youll be surprised old the goodies in that field good luck

For sure! And hopefully the first of many!

Nice. Hope you find some more stuff.

Welcome to the club, nice find
