I made my first attempt checking a CoinStar tray today. I could see roundness in the hole.. Well Technically it was round in the tray. When I dug it out I knew there just had to be Silver.... Well not really unless you count modern clad as silver. Also so nasty pennies and a Buffalo Nickle.... Well Technically A Buffalo but not the kind we like to find. Just a modern one. Hey at least I found .54 Cents and I will be checking other for sure. Thanks for looking!

A find is a find. just keep looking and that silver will show up.

Well, you know what they say, you'll always remember your first! Congratulations, may the (coin)stars align for you!

Now you are hooked for sure. I found $3.02 last Sunday and .12 yesterday. You NOW have another addiction. :laughing7:

I would take anything...I just keep looking. But free money is still free money....

I have my 6 year old son checking them with me.. Sooner or later you will pick up a piece of old silver or wheats.

You found more than I have, and I check every time I walk by the thing.

I recently found a Proof Silver State Quarter..my best Coinstar find:thumbsup:

Also, always check the feeder tray! I have found four or five silver dimes in the very corner (closest to you when facing the machine) of the feeder tray. :icon_thumright:

Keep looking the silver will eventually show up! :icon_thumleft:

Nice picks. Ours has been darn dry now for months. :BangHead:

Wait, I am trying to understand this.

You are checking the return trays in coin sorting machines?

Not the bags of coins that have been added to the machines, but stuff stuck in the return tray?

Is that what this is about?

The Coinstar Machines have a Reject tray at the bottom where non coin, foreign coin, damaged coins or silver and no longer minted coins end up after sorting. People don't realize some of their coins are there when they are done and leave them for me to find!

Congrats, coins found and easy on the shoulder and arm!

I checked 3 more machines today while out running errands. The first 2 had nothing but the last had .78 cents. All Modern, Still no Silver. Just Free money!

Looks like money to save for that new detector, pinpointer or accessory or just in the "piggy bank"! Have to scout out the one i go by tonight when i am out at the store. The hunt is on!

You must have been devastated when coin operated payphones went out.

Glad for the rebound...
