Always cool to find a foreign coin in So. Calif. I was leaving a very poor producing park when my machine screamed at this beauty. Barely an inch under the grass. Didn't clean it, pics are as found!

Nice find! They remind me of our seated liberty type coins.

Looking at its condition & knowing how the hundreds of these things normally look like, I would say it wasn't there for very long at all.

Nice find, :icon_thumright: The coin is in great condition. You must have pulled that in an arid area. I enjoy digging up foreign coins, especially some with age. Your's more than likely was brought home in a soldiers pocket change. If that coin could talk what story would it tell. :dontknow:

A hell of one, that's what. My only foreign is a German 20 euro cent coin. That must have an interesting story too, all the way in Cali.

Congratulations on the old copper find! :occasion14:

SoCal gets a lot of tourists. I myself have lost a few Yen coins over there. Anyone here ever find Yens in the USA while detecting before?

Thats a nice looking British Large Cent. It seems to be in great shape. I have dug a few of those, but they dont look that good.
