First day with Tesoro Silver UMax

This is our first day out with our new Tesoro Silver Umax. My son and I are new to metal detecting, but we are excited with the results so far and are looking forward to doing a lot of hunting.

I can tell you from experience, keep swinging that silver and it will get better and better.

I am already planning to upgrade, and my son will take over the silver. I am looking at a Umax Gold, so that we both have nice detectors. Also we are going to join a local metal detecting club tomorrow. Really looking forward to this!

I upgraded from the silver to the vaquero and, don't get me wrong because I love the vaquero, when I went back and hunted the sites already hunted with the silver, I didn't find anything. The silver found everything. I think the vaquero gets a little more depth but if there are no deep relics there, what's the use upgrading. I find myself using the silver because it's simple to use. Get another silver and a couple of bigger coils.

Good luck to you and your son, it's a great and rewarding hobby. One of those pull tabs will be a gold ring before you know it.
