Today (saturday 9-28) I went back to this old homesite. The pictures are not to good. I had to scan them. I found the white jar top laying on top of the ground. Surprised it was still in good shape. All around I found bits and pieces of the milk glass. Also found bits and pieces of jar lids, but no jars full of coins. (Dang). I also found a square nail, the back drop for drawer handle and it looks like a lock door handle, it has on right side a nub that slides inside when key is turned. Not shown is the big heavy double bladed axe head and other junk metal.
Yesterday I went to this site for the first time. I found my first Cival war button. To bad the plow and disc found it before me. It was a bent piece of metal I almost threw away. Brought it home and cleaned it up and noticed the shield with the C and after turning and trying to figure what else was on it. It finally hit me it was an eagle with a shield in the middle of it with a C. This was 2:30 in the morning, wanted to wake the wife and tell her that I think I found a CW button. But I also wanted to live too. LOL Figured could wait till morning . That was the only good thing I found that day. HH all.
