Last night I hit up a lot that they just tore down the house on last week, nobody else had hit it yet! (finally!!) here were NO foot prints and holes all around! anyway, I used my new SE Pro coil. I managed to get a little bit used to it, but I am still learning this whole thing really. Compared to the SE silmline, the target separations seems to be a bit better and the pin pointing seems just as good or better. I found many shallow targets and one deepie I dug. I didn't have time to go after the other deepies, but the one I did get was about 14 inches, (a 1952 wheat) the oldest coin find. I was hopeing for my first silver, but still no luck, I hit all around it with a 1965 quarter, a 1968 dime, and a 1971, 1973 x2 Lincoln's. Anyway, I found a handful of other things as you can see by the photos, but I also found this nice copper AAOA plaque (American Automobile Owners Association), I need some help with dating this things, I looked up AAOA on google and it gives many hits for AAA, but I am not exactly sure if it's the same thing I did find a link. that said that the AAA and the AAOA were in dispute over their names..?? but I need help with dating or any info on the AAOA at all? Perhaps someone's personal knowledge will help me. It's my 7th wheat for this year! yeah!! (oh, the site dates to about 1890, and there was an old car repair shop about a block away from this area from about 1900 to 1920.?) Please help!!!

I'd say you did pretty good; the AAA plague is a winner and your photos are very good!
I'd hurry back there; searching for all the deep targets, taking a little more time.

I am not sure that AAA and AAOA are the same thing. I found a court case where the AAA sued the AAOA back in 1932, any info on the AAOA would be helpful anyone.

I found more info!!

"The respondent American Automobile Owners Association was incorporated in this state in January, 1924, but did not commence doing business until August, 1926. Unlike the California State Automobile Association and the American Automobile Association, it is a stock corporation. It is in no way affiliated with either the State Association or the AAA. In actual operation the corporation furnishes similar services to those rendered by the California State Automobile Association and automobile associations generally. At the time of trial in November, 1927, its membership had grown to 17,000. It asserts that its activities are confined to the thirteen southern counties of the state. Its principal place of business is in the city of Los Angeles. It also maintains an office in San Diego."

so the plaque is from about 1927 or so!!

WTG on the wheat, the relics and the ID Marcus .

Hit the spots that the dirt has been disturbed or moved, if you don't, I will :icon_pirat: :icon_jokercolor:

Thanks for sharing and good luck.
