Detector(s) used
Makro Multi Kruzer
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Hello,

here are the first finds with my new Makro Multi Kruzer. At the beginning I had problems separating iron, but now I found a good setting and learned which IDs are good and which not. In four hunts so far I found coins from Saxony, France and a medieval one, old finger and ear rings and other nice things. I'm really satisfied with my new detector.

Nice finds. Congrats.

I've heard the Multi Kruzer is a nice machine. Hope you are able to find more coins & relics and share the photos with us.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice bunch of finds, but you just made a worrying statement ''which IDs are good and which not''. NEVER rely on the VDI/VDU. Only use your ears(this can take way over 1 year to learn a new machine, there are NO short-cuts, unless you want to miss good finds) & the numbers as a 'guide'.(never decide on numbers alone)

Case in point; Yesterday I heard a 06 on the Deus, which is in the iron nail range. Using your logic it would get passed over. But because our style is to dig as much junk as possible, I knew it 'sounded' like a deeper coin. I scrapped the ground, tried again & it changed to a 45. Dug it & it was a deeper Roman Coin.

@Crusader I made similar experiences, the thin medieval coin was as low as 11 and the default TBreak for iron in 3 tone is 15, so I turned it down to 5. I have to learn more from the sound, it's good that the Multi Kruzer can give you a lot of audio feedback if you want.

Depending how quick you are at recovery of items from the ground & this is key, you should dig as much as possible. Because wasting 30 seconds from beep to pouch is nothing to worry about. However, if it slows you down which means you don't cover the area your gridding so quickly, then you need to find a style that suits. However, this should all be anchored by learning the sounds & not the numbers. In this way you will be able to guess what it is, how big it is & how deep it is, purely by sound alone.(in this way the numbers are irrelevant, but do help in the guessing)
