First flat button.

Found this button at a long gone farm that I found on a 1877 plat map. The back reads Scovills and Double gilt. It also has 2 star symbols, the front is smooth. I have little knowledge on flat buttons can anyone help with a date range? As always any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nice find. Most I have found and could get a rough date from the backmarks usually between 1800-1840 where mine usually fall. Keep looking prolly more and maybe they dropped some nice silver coins or copper ones.
