Congratulations on the gold ring find. Those never get old to find. :icon_thumright:

Awesome way to start the year bet there will be many many more Tommy

Congratulations!:headbang::occasion14:

Great Hunt! My back already hurts, can’t wait to get my hands on the AQ!

That's a Big Honker!! Congrads LE!! Years ago I will never forget, I got a US Senators ring, 18k 23 grams. I swear it was 16 inch's down and I was using the little 800 coil on the excalibur. Big rings do have a way of sinking.

Thank you for the comments,

Thanks

no need to swear i believe you :occasion14:

there are a lot of parameters that come into play
the most important being the diameter of the ring
this one is small, it does not pass to my little finger ..

two years ago I had this one there / 18gr -18k
at least twice as wide
from my recollection, it was deeper
and the clean sound

the position in the sand also plays on the perforamnce
the signet rings have a heavier head
and because of that / often on the side ..

in good condition and on a large ring
we should see 20 '
large rings in perspective

JAG......were you using the same pre-production Rick has that he sent back for minor upgrades.......OR do you actually have a PRODUCTION MODEL? I know sometimes ..... management makes a decision to DUMB a machine down to make it easier for the average hunter to use rather than the more experienced one. Im hoping this one is designed for the more experienced hunter.... but usable by the average Joe. I can tell you ..... we are missing some heavy stuff down there.... as well as high K. Everything sinks to its equal weight unless stopped. 20" on a big chunk of gold is what we all want...... but that small band..... even a couple of inches can make a huge difference.

yes i use the latest pcb
that of series machines

the only notable differences are:
my box which is in ventral / the square plastic box of the beginnings
on which I climbed, an AQ facade ...
it's easier to access / to test upgrades ...

so my coil cable is longer
normally this should cause a slight drop in performance
but I did not find a difference with the unit test in El Paso ..

if not, I use a big headphones
homemade, soundproofing at 32db
in which I ride a marshall major 2
the headphones can play on performance, especially when there is a lot of wind / like on the video
but everyone can mount the headphones of their choice / when the cable connection is available.

regarding performance
if the detector starts at 7us
is that it can do better ... 6 was possible
only there would be problems of homogeneity in the series

which would be unacceptable for the client

you would be the first to shout if your impulse was less efficient
than that of OBN, or the reverse:tongue3:

there is bound to be a limit imposed by mass production
so that everyone gets the same thing

believe me you will never dig so deep
that with this one

Congratulations on the gold! I’m only at about $4.00 in clad so far, for the year. lol

I agree it doesnt take long for the chit to hit the fan if there is a lack of consistency when it comes to how the machine or coil functions. Im also not certain making a coil ..... for salt water use less than 7uS would make a difference unless theres a way to eliminate the setting which seems to be the biggest deterrent to finding smaller gold. I think everyone will be paying attention to Joe (OBN) and well it does for him.
