First hunt of 2010 Gold

The Jets game was pused back to a night game so I had a few hours to kill.
I headed down to the beach under a boardwalk area where I've had good luck in the past.
The sand was for the most part frozen so I had to do some chopping. I stared with a few coins but then I saw some glitter. First thought was a broken tennis bracelet. When I got it out I saw it was made of glass or CZ and the band was the kind that stretched. I guess it can be won on the wrist or ankle.
A few coins later and then my first gold of the new year. The crucifix is stamped on the back 14K GD and the letter c inside a circle. The bale/bail has the same mark as well but without the "c".
Spent about two hours there, and also managed $1.47 in coin.

Nice cross but I would have it checked. I found one that looked real nice & had the 14k stamp. When I took it in to have it checked it turned out to be fake. Made of brass.

Nice hunt but you are not going to like what I found: 14kd is gold dipped/plating! per Wikipedia.

Ain't that the pits! We were pulling for you. Why mark it, if it is not real--just to trick the buyer?

Nice finds I think the cross is real myself, I hope it is for you. The 14K GD is followed by the copyright symbol which may be representing the maker whoever GD is.

Nice catch on the GD vs kgd. He needs to take it to a jeweler.
