Just got over the flu and got out for my first hunt of the year. I hit a couple sections of a beach I've never had much luck on in the past......that trend continued today.

Targets were scarce, managed one junk ring, some clad and a 50 Cal round. The bullet was at the surf line.....waaaay down in the sand. Must have washed up after being discarded at sea......lots of NAVY in the area.

Like your positioning of the ring on the 50 cal!

Wish they wouldn't waste ammo, dang. LOL. Looks like nose art from a plane the way you sat the ring on the round. Congrats and best of luck throughout the year.

The Government did it!

Not sure how old the 50 cal is, but during WW II there was a lot of practice offshore all up and down the east coast. I have found several rounds both projectiles and casings, usually deep and usually on beaches that have been renourished at one time or another. HH Papa

they were not only practicing on those bchs during WWII
they fired at German uboats off shore all the time up and down the coast
government kept it secret alot - and would say it was practice

Ive been told the beach has been renourished with dredgings.

I'd like to keep it.....probably too dangerous to have around, probably bury it somewhere.

could always use it for deer hunting!
