Went out after having Covid for a week and spent about 3 hours hunting in fields.
I found an old hatchet head (will post later) and a bunch of nails. I ended up finding this fine button within a mess of nails.
I was almost finished for the day when I got a mixed signal of high tones and low tones. It sounded like a nail, but the high tones were a little abnormal (on the AT Pro).
I dug the target and sure enough I saw roundness in the hole. This coin is in great shape too! It's a 1773 KG III Virginia Halfpenny! my second or third one from this site!
The site is pretty hunted out, my next outing will be after the fields are turned and I'll be digging every signal from this 30-40 sq foot area!
Thanks all and happy hunting!!!

I like those kinds of buttons, nice half penny:headbang:

I have never seen a button like that. What is its ID, just for my education? It looks old and very nice.

It's what I believe considered to be a tombac button. It reads upper 49-53 on my AT Pro

Definitely lucky on this site... I have found multiple bucket listers on this one site... It's been very good to me
