Detector(s) used
Eldorado
I got the Eldorado on Ebay for $259 plus shipping. Only one bid and won!! ;D It arrived yesterday around 6pm was not able to test it in the yard.

Wow, it is very light and small control box!!

Today I tested it in between rain showers. I just had to try it out.

I ground balanced it a few times to get the feel for it. Wow, it was easier than I though it was. I set the disc. on foil. sensitivity on 10 and found a target, it was very weak I dug 6-in. It was still in the hole, dug another 3-in still in the hole. Went another 1-in and found a brass back to a name tag or metal something like that. The Ace 250 never would of found that very small item! :o

I have also hunted out my yard with the Garrett Ace 250 Many, many times. Could not find any more with it. :(

This Eldorado is very light and easy to use. ;D I think I will be investing in a 12x10-in coil and a 4-in or 5.75-in coil.

The Eldorado is going to be my Land detector and next machine will we a Tesoro Sand Shark with a 10.5-inch coil for the beach.

I am really amazed on the depth of this machine!! :o

It did not come with a manual so I down loaded it from the Tesoro webpage.

I did find the Tesoro video on Ground Balancing very useful. It did help me understand it.

At Metaldetectorreviews and Garys in the UK Tesoro owners are the HAPPIEST of ALL detector owners. I wonder why so many people don't realize how good a product they make?

I can tell you this I may put the ace 250 in the closet or if some one want to detect with me I let them use the ace 250.

Glad you like the Eldora (as I call it).

Tesoro has always made a great deep seeking machine(s).

I think they're so easy to use and learn that this causes many to think they can't be good.

In public speaking we say 'Be clear; not muddy." See, some people appear to be brillant simply because no one can figure out what they're talking about. These people aren't "deep," they're muddy (shallow thinkers doing a snow job).

Some brands of detectors are so obscure, weird, complex, etc., that buyers think they must be deep. Because they believe they're deep; they are deep.
When it fact some brands and models are really nothing more than shallow money making gimmicks.

Tesoro has never played that game. They're goal from the beginning was to make a good no-nonsense metal detector and they've stayed with that philosophy all these years. Everything about any Tesoro product is clear. They're easy to learn just like it's easier to learn from a really knowledgeable mentor.

Ignorant people hide behind obscure, hard to understand words. Junky detector makers hide behind obscure, hard to learn machines. They're hoping people never wise up.

Sorry for the lecture! This won't be on the exam ;D ;D

I use spell check before I post messages.

I did some more test with the Eldorado, Coin shooting the park. Settings were: Sensitivity 10, Discrimate: Zn cent. Super tuned threshold maxed.

I came out with 78 cents.
2 quarters
2 dime
8 pennies (All Copper)

One penny was bend up and I left all the biodegradable pennies in the ground to Rest In Peace.

All modern stuff. In a 1hr and 1/2. The oldest was a 1961 penny

Depth range: on top to 12" (First target was a Quarter on Top of ground) No digging required.

Not bad!! love this machine. I pinpointed on discriminate mode.

I find that this machine is very easy to use and very light weight.
I did find out that this machine does not like overhead power lines!!
But was able to get 1 Quarter in this area, even in the noise at 8 inches deep.
The deepest was a dime at 12"

geckokid,
