I got this machine in Jan., used an ATP for 2 years. After 2 months of reading Andy's book, and getting to know the machine, the best I could, with snow, and frozen tundra outside. :BangHead: Went to an old home site, I have been hunting...........First....not as heavy as I thought, I only stayed a couple hours, and do have a Swingy Thingy, if needed... second Like how it is so much quieter than the ATP......Third...........Quick mask screen is awesome, I dug some "big"iron just to check it out.........and it was big iron, dug a couple deep, modern pennies, a pull tab, and some misc. copper pieces. All in all what a nice detector, I like!!! Still snow in places, and lots of water/mud, but I am excited ...................it's time to get after it.:hello2:

Glad to hear you are finally getting a chance to put that bad boy to work! :)

Isn't it so much smoother than your old machine?

The E-Trac is a super machine. Excellent choice fun to use. Discrimination can be set easily and cherry pick what you want to find. Even shut out zinc out if you rather not dig them but also loose Indians. Enjoy HH

It is like night and day, Keith. Kept running it over my boots to check it!!! Glad I spent so many hours with the menu and other stuff before going out, had to recharge the batterie,, I played with it so much, I am running Andys coin pattern for a while. really like the tones, compared to my AT Pro!! Headed to the beach today, for some not so muddy, easy recovery, so I can dig more stuff!!...Thanks again Keith.........this is a game changer!!

I hate the Zincs, but there are lots of Indians, where I hunt, so I am trying to learn it with out much disc. Not nearly the learning curve I expected!! With Andys book and a little time with the key pad and menu, its seems pretty easy to understand

With time, you will hear the subtle difference between Zincolns and Indians.... The tone is ever so slightly different on each of them. :)

Very well said and time is the key to learning tone ID.

Congrats on the ETrac!
I'm beginning my 2nd year.
I use a "modified" version of the A.Sabisch coin program. You are fully correct w quik mask. Great option.
You will learn more each time you turn it on.
I jumped from an ATPro to F70 to ETrac. Not to bad of a learning curve, but I had more trust in the magic # 12 than I should have. Trust repeatable non ferrous numbers too.
GL
Peace ✌

Headed out to the beach today, trying to avoid all the mud/snow, during the thaw. Really liked my AT Pro, and was very comfortable with it, but this is a whole different animal, need to dig a lot more targets, and the beach is the easiest place for that, this early in the season. Only been out once for a couple hours, but being retired, and snow disapearing fast, that is about to change!!

Congrats on the new machine! Its hard for me to pass over any solid repeatable target.
