I got a chance to go with my dad, shallow digger, to that old park he found his IH, merc and barber at. Things started out slow, all I found was junk and a few zincs here and there. After a couple of hours, I was about to give in and sat on a tree to watch my dad. After a little of this I went back and got my machine and told myself I needed to find a wheat so that I wasn't the only one in the group without a keeper. I went toward my uncleand started swingin. After a little while, I got what I thought was a deep penny signal. I got down, hoping this was my keeper. Turns out a pop tab about 3 inches.
I got back up and within five steps got another signal which I thought was going to be a zinc. I dug a small two inch hole, flipped it over and got a signal in the pod. I worked my way back up about an inch, when a penny popped out. I picked it up and saw the back, which said ONE CENT. Thinking I had just dug a wheat, I dashed to my uncle and he told me it was an IH. Turns out to be a 1907, my first injun ever (which my dads only 2 Indians are) so now my family has three 1907 IHs. Hasn't cleaned up the greatest yet, but I'm working on it. Silly me for thinking it was a wheat.
