First keeper in over a month !

Haven't been out much in July due to the heat, family matters and an infected bee sting ! Got out between rain showers and the first target I dug was this 1864 two cent piece. They are so hard to find in decent condition around here. The reverse is nice on this one but a little crusty on the obverse. Felt good to dig something, its been a while !

I love those coins!, I have 2 1864s I've found, that one can clean up nicely, did you try the toothpick method?, an odd method that has worked for me is an actual pencil eraser, just rub back and forth and it cleans up nicely

Congratulations on a great find and overcoming your slump!!! That will do it!!! I'll be jumping up and down probably when and IF I ever find an Indian Head penny! That 2 cent piece would push me over the top! That's a heck of a good way to make up after a slump!

Nice to see you post Ed. That's a hell of a slump breaker,I get razzed over a Merc! Living here in WI believe it or not I have found an 1865 3 center. Coins like that aren't that common to find here,I'll promise you that! Great big CONGRATS on finding that hen's tooth!
