Closing in on first month detecting with the new Equinox 700.

Here are the positives compared to the 600: turns on much faster and pairs to headphones instantly, better balance and grip does not rub knuckles, no shaft or coil wobble, appears to have better target acquisition in iron infested sites.

Here are the negatives so far only using stock Park 1, Auto GB, Sensitivity 21, Noise canceling, occasionally bumping up recovery speed to 3 (max) in iron: iron falsing is bad in some locations, vdi -19 to 99 is very difficult to get used and seems less consistent, tones are generally chirpier and don’t seem to adjust to depth (deep silver dime sounds identical to shallow can top)

FYI, The last time I upgraded machines it took me 3 or 4 months to get fully in sync.

Pics are from new urban park woods that had occupation from mid 1800’s to present day.

That’s some nice finds!

What is the crescent shaped piece with the holes in it at the top left of your first photo? (I’ve found a few of those and have no idea what they are.)

Toe tap. I see these at many of my 1800’s sites. Nailed into tip of shoe, I believe to add durability to the leather
