Found this beautiful 1885 Morgan Silver Dollar about 3 to 4 inches down in a field about 100 yards fram an 1800's plantation house in Alabama. Fairly good condition with a New Orleans Mint Mark. It was found using my At Pro with a NEL Storm Coil...I will have to say it was a good day. Can wait to get back to that field and see what else I can come up with.

Wow! That looks so clean it might have just come out of a holder!

Pictures were after I cleaned it. Had mud stuck to it. VDI on the AT Pro was 92.

Awesome find! Congratulations

Very nice find! I can't wait to find my first :D You didn't dig any Barbers or Indians at the plantation? Not that a Morgan isn't enough but I would think if you found that, there's more!!

Congrats! That's in great condition! I can't wait to find one! Looking forward to seeing what else you find out there!

Not yet, didn't have but a few hours out there. But have permission to go back anytime to hunt.

Congrats on a great find! I found my first SD earlier this year but it was a Peace Dollar. It's a crazy good feeling hoisting those big chunks of silver out of the ground.
Oh, and welcome to Tnet!

SWEET Silver! Great find!:hello2::headbang::occasion14:

Congratulations! Super find. Found one quite a few years ago. You will most likely never forget the thrill of finding one.
