Fun hunt today in the woods. Found a nice silver mercury dime 1945, a old button, and what I believe is a musket ball! Hopefully you all can confirm it by looking at the photos. It's heavy. It's in the photos next to the mercury dime.

Enjoy the photos

nice digs! Typically musket balls are round like these pictured. It may be a shotgun slug but it sure has a lot of white on it for a slug. :dontknow:

This next picture was from a site where very old coins were being dug - note the white on musket ball.

One side is totally round here are some more pictures. The first pictures next to the dime it does look a flat spot but it is totally round on the dark side. it was in my pocket more the dirt rubbed off and it has a lot of white.

well given the amount of white on that - I'd say it was a musket ball that hit something. That 1st pic of mine - the far left is similar to what you are showing. So you probably found a musket ball! Congrats!

I think you did find your first musket ball. Congrats!

Congrats guy.... I found something like that in my woods (close to driveway) but mine is much smaller but real heavy for its size. Maybe mine is one also.... :dontknow:

IMO.

The Ball Is likely a Fired 69 cal Ball. ( "LIKELY")

Nice Dime as well.
