Went back to a foundation that we hunted 4 times and recovered 4 large cents and a flying eagle. Hunted for about an hour and not much. I got an 80 on the at-pro and its reading 2 inches. I moved the dead leaves back and there is a large cent sitting on the ground. First of the year. image.webpimage.webp

It was waiting to be found. Even worked its way to the top for you. Congrats!

Nice job on the big copper.

My eyes must be fooling me the date looks like 1863 but they didn't make LC's that year must be 53

Nice find, , on top of soil probably means it was dropped by another detectorist??
Unless the ground is plowed regularly.
Congrats on a nice find . That date looks like 1863.

Wow, a surface find LC, I bet a previous hunter dropped that when they thought it went into their finds pouch. Their loss, your gain.

Nice old coppa . Grats

It is 1853, maybe dropped by someone. I was glad to see one more come out of that place.

Awesome surface find- congrats!!

Grats on the LC

Nice one Tony. I should have finished what i was doing and met up with you guys. Thats been a pretty productive foundation site. 5 largies and a flying eagle, all in above average condition. might have to hit that place one more time for good measure.

Don't you love it when that happens ? No digging needed ! Great find.
