Took my new DFX out for it's maiden voyage yesterday. No pictures as it was only clad. A little over $2 worth but alas just clad. I must say it is going to take some time to learn this thing but from what I hear it will be worth it.

The pre set programs do quite well and I guess if you like to play you can tweek it a little more. I have only used the pre set programs myself. Hope you enjoy and congrats on your new detector.

Yeah the preset programs seemed fairly good. It just seemed that everything I hit seemed really jumpy. Don't know if it was the 12" coil, the ground, the detector, or me. Seems as though I have some work ahead of me for sure.

My 12" coil does the same thing. I almost never get the same number consistantly. When I use the 6 " DD it is a lot better. I also like to use the preset programs, but I turn up the gain to 3 and turn down the sens. until it is steady. I got a small tax token at 8 inches that rang out loud just last night. (smaller than a dime with a hole in the center). Its a good machine. I love mine.

when you have the super 12 connected make sure your coil wire is tight and not moving around, with my 12
if it's loose it'll chatter when you swing it

Congrats on the loot, you are off to a great start
