First Ring!

Discovered my first ring last Thursday. Just did the photos. It appears to be copper as it had a green patina on it that I cleaned a bit to see some detail. Missing the stone. I detected the same place 20 years ago and either missed it or it is new since then. Hard to say. My Mother's back yard to be exact. Found it with an old Garrett Fortune Hunter I bought new in 1985. Pretty crude and heavy by today's standards, but it works. Ring was about 2 inches down. Knew it was something more than trash as it rang like a coin, but stronger. Wish it was Gold or Silver, but at least I found a ring.

Nice first ring....Maybe soon you'll find the stone that went with it....Return to site, take a five gallon bucket and gather the dirt you found it in. Go to Home depot and get some screen and wash the sand through screen material. And search the remaining pieces for the stone...

cool, looks older. I never find the stones in the rings I dig up either. They must rot away in the ground
