Metal Detecting
I hunt a lot of tot lots while learning my AT Pro. I also hunt a lot of them with my kids playing on the swing sets BUT -anytime metal detecting is still time hunting away from the TV and out in the fresh air.
I found my 1st ring the other day.
I thought the Number was high for gold (rang up at 58-60) but thought. oh Wow , it's stamped on the inside but couldn't read it in the field.

I get home and the stamp says EDCO--- wth, 2 min on the net and I find it for sale thru Etsy.
Damnnnnn. $20 garbage.
Better luck next time

NICE FIND EVEN IF NOT GOLD ...

Hey that's just the start I keep my silver coins and rings in a display case The ones my wife and daughters don't take ehhhhhh. The at pro rings will ring up at all vdi most of my gold was 38 to 47 but platnum was 60s when you learn bottle caps you will do better usually gold the vdi wont bounce very much 1 vdi number maybe. lift coil bottle caps usually bounce 7 to 8 numbers patience and practice Keep it up been really humid here in A2 last few days I like heat but a little cooler would be nice. Thanks for sharing your finds

Hi heymirth, you now know how a ring sounds on your detector, that is a plus and proof you're on the dead on target. The next one maybe the good one, good luck and thanks for sharing.

Congrats on the ring the gold one is coming

A ring is a ring. Nobody wants to lose one! :laughing7: congrats.

I have pulled the 14kt ladies yellow and white gold wedding bands from the water with the AT PRO. They both rang in at 63. I got a 14kt man's wedding band at 65. An 18kt man's ring came in at 51. Sometimes you just have to dig.
Congrats on your first ring with the PRO.

Would yall say that ANY repetitive signal that stays steady on the VDI is worth digging? I'll admit I can get a bit lazy sometimes and I NEVER dig a 53 on the AT Pro.

Congratulations on your first ring. My junk rings come in handy. Roommates got 3 girls. The junkers get my dishes washed!

It's still a nice looking ring! :icon_thumleft:

Rings are what we are after. Keep digging and the good ones will show up. Congrats on your first ring

Still very exciting, I love rings!

Congrats on your first ring. It has a real nice design.

Here is the deal: If you pass on the iffy signals 70% of the treasure will escape you... but you dig fewer holes. If you can only dig 30 holes a day, be selective. If you are strong and can dig 150 holes in a day, then dig every repeatable signal above 40, a few days of doing that, and I bet you will have something good and unexpected in your pouch!

Best of luck!
