Today I went by the bank and got $195.00 worth of coins.
I bought $75.00 worth of the new dollars and $120.00 worth of halves.
The dollars didn't turn up anything. I wish I would have checked the outside of the rolls first and seen what mint they came from. All of mine were from PA. I went ahead and busted them open anyway. I will return these to get more halves.

Here is what I found in my halves:

One 1961, one 1963, three 1967 and one 1969.
I also had fourteen Bicentennial halves...two of which had no mint mark. One of those had smooth edges. Not sure if any of these are worth anything more than face value.
I also had thirteen other halves that had no mint mark. Two of the were 1971, four were 1972, two were 1973, three were 1974 and two were 1979. Not sure if these are worth aything other than face value.

Could someone tell me if the Bicentennial halves or the halves with no mint marks are worth anything?

Thanks!

I believe that time frame the Phila mint did not have a mint mark...the bicentenials aren't worth anything except if the mint mark is "s" I still like them tho during those years in question you will find no "p" mint marks

Nice ratio for your first rolls. Now you are hooked. Were the half rolls hand rolled or shotgun style (did they look like the dollar rolls)?

The halves were hand rolled. Not sure how many more they have but I am going back tommorrow.

Welcome aboard Swamphunter. That is a very good start. I like the hand rolled halves...easier to open and can use the same wrappers again. Good luck tomorrow and let us know how you do.

BTW - It is easy to get hooked to CRH'ing....lol.
