I’m skeptical as well, and believe it’s a rock, not a point.
We find lots of quartzite points in RI, and most of our quartzite is metamorphosed sandstone. Apply heat, pressure, and time to sandstone, and quartzite is the result.
Once in a blue moon, I’ll come across a quartzite point of such low grade quartzite, that one could not be blamed
if one thought it was still sandstone. This point comes to mind. So water worn, and very coarse grained quartzite, that I questioned if it was even a point when I picked it up.
But sandstone itself would not be used for flaked artifacts. It was used for other artifact types, but not points....
