I'm skeptical. You couldn't cut butter with a sandstone point. Gary

Yes I could possibly be a Gary that's been weathered

His Name is Gary.

Not an artifact.

Like Gary said, the NA's wouldn't use sandstone to make a point because it wouldn't be razor sharp or hold an edge...

I’m skeptical as well, and believe it’s a rock, not a point.

We find lots of quartzite points in RI, and most of our quartzite is metamorphosed sandstone. Apply heat, pressure, and time to sandstone, and quartzite is the result.

Once in a blue moon, I’ll come across a quartzite point of such low grade quartzite, that one could not be blamed
if one thought it was still sandstone. This point comes to mind. So water worn, and very coarse grained quartzite, that I questioned if it was even a point when I picked it up.

But sandstone itself would not be used for flaked artifacts. It was used for other artifact types, but not points....

Welcome aboard, but I have to agree with the others. That is not a Point.

The even base and apparent thinness of the base make me wonder if this isn't encrustation.Could it be metal?
