No pictures as of yet, but Found my first seated coin today!!! An 1876 Seated Dime, though it appears someone made it into a necklace at one point. Still has the "clasp" going through the top. Will post pictures when I am out of work. Also found what appears to be a button cap of some sort, looks like a wartime button front of some sort but not sure. It may just be a knock-off.

Once I get some pictures up you will see what I mean.

Ill be working until 10pm cst tonight.... ugh... I hate having to stay late... oh well..... It's more suspense this way.

I will add my Merc dime i found a few months ago as well... only because it seems this town has some of the cleanest coins I have ever seen come out of the ground.

ok finally got some pictures. They arent very good, and dont do the coins justice. I will figure out how to do better.

This is the "button cap" I was talking about as well. It's about the size of a quarter. hollow on the back.

That doesnt appear to have the wear of being worn around the neck?It was common for bracelets to be made of coins though.....maybe it fell off one of those or the rest is there!!!

Great Seal button face

Wow, It is in great condition. We are very fortunate in this state that our soil is pretty forgiving. Dan :headbang:

Yes a bracelet is a possibility, and it may be there. I passed up quite a few targets, as I was in a hurry and found alot of junk targets as well. The site is from 1838 so I would imagine there is plenty more to be found. Any ideas on the button face? I know you cant see much since it is damaged, but I am just curious.

Congratulations on the Seated
They don't come up too often, at least over here in the Chi-town area. Welcome to the seated club. Can you tell if it had a mint-mark or is that completely drilled away from the clasp? I would definitely go back to that site and work it slow if I were you.

As to the button, can you tell if there is any sort of writing or engraving on the reverse side? That could help with I.D.

Smile. Nice seated
