First silver and other goodies right under my nose

found A 1918 merc in my backyard yesterday, along with some other goodies. I was already hooked on metal detecting but nothing beats silver in the hole! Also found a Warner tree tap, button, and a spoon handle with writing I can’t quite make out yet. Seeing all the awesome stuff you all unearth with your detectors is part of what made me take the plunge.

Spoon handle turned out to be what I believe is nickel silver based on how it’s cleaning up, looks like someone hand carved initials into it W B P. Hopefully I can trace it back to an occupant from my old house.

"nothing beats silver in the hole".....you may change your mind when you find gold in the hole......or a real cool relic.
