FIRST SILVER COIN FOUND MD!!!!!!!UPDATE: !!!!!!!!! PICS ADDED!!!!

Went to an old park today in my town and found my first silver coin! Its a 1933 sixpence that was only 2 inches down! I also found $1.50 in clad, and a 2001 5 pence coin. THIS IS MY FIRST SILVER! I have been waiting months for this and now im part of the silver club! Of course my brother took my camera with him to the skatepark so i cant post pics yet. In a couple hours i will though. Anyone know its value? Thanks for looking!

Where do you live that peeps are spending pence?! If it is a British 6-pence then the 1933 is 50% silver and worth the silver weight, according to my '96 coin book.

congrats!!! i also found my 1st silver on sun 9-3-06. a 1951 (roosevelt of course) dime in pretty good shape. at an old elementary school that i some how overlooked. only 5 minutes from home. keep looking. gf2 in tx

Thanks for the replies! Yes, it is a British sixpence, it weighs about 1/8 of an ounce so i guess i have 1/16 ounces of silver! At todays silver price thats about ($13 / 16) 81 cents! WOW! Not quite a half dollar but still my favorite silver find yet! There selling on ebay for about 1-4 dollars each. Thanks for the help!

Woo Hoo, congratulations on that first silver detecting find. So far I have only found one silver coin, but sure loved its glimmer when it came out of the ground. I am sure there is much more waiting in the ground for us.
