First Silver!! I'm so pumped!

OK, newbie hear. I have about 20 hours under my belt. Spent allll day yesterday at a famous Civil War era home with a lot of history (with permission). I couldn't believe that I didn't come across anything but a few wheat pennies. Well today I went down to my step-mother-in-laws house (is there such a thing?). It is a beautiful old early 20th century home with the long driveway and huge Gulf Coast oaks in Vancleave, MS. Searched for about two hours and had a handful of modern change and then noticed a pretty strong signal. Dug down and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the shiny rim of a silver coin. Pulled it out and saw Lady Liberty walking and I let out this giddy school girl scream (that I was ashamed that a few people heard me, hehe). It is a 1941 Walking Liberty. I was beginning to think I was cursed. It got so bad I quit reading "Today's Finds" because it got me so pissed off. Well now a can brag (a little)!

You have a right to brag all you want about that find. You just grin all you want because that's what I would do. I take them to work and brag some more too!!!...Way to go on the first, and big silver...Congrats ten tines over!

Congrats on the zilva!!! I still don't have one of the those. Just got my first washington yesterday after 8 months of detecting. I have several other silvers, but, George had been elusive. There is hope and your hobby is off with a bang!!

There are a lot of signals you will pass up while coin shooting. Sooner or later you get the feel of your machine and you will know when it is a zincoln or a copper on it's side. GL an HH
