Finally worked up the nerve and the capital to order boxes from a couple banks. The first two boxes were skunks. The next two were skunks (I thought).

When I was dumping the second two boxes in a coinstar, one kept coming back, and it had that sound, you know. It was a '66 Kenedy.

Oh, Brother. I search 2000 halves and do not even SEE the first one when I've got it in my hand. Oh well, I got it anyway.

BTW, do you think you would lose any silver if you just poured an unsearched box through the coinstar, in order to get the reject silver. Dumb question. Educate me.

A) Welcome, and congrats on your first silver found in the wild. :icon_thumleft:

B) Stay far away from coinstar machines.

Welcome, And wish you much silver. I stay away from coinstar machines but I do look for leftover coins in them .

Stay away from Coinstar. The fees will kill you. If you can take advantage of promotions where the fees are waived, then by all means, dump heavy and hard. Best thing about Coinstar is that the coins stay there for awhile so you won't be searching your own dumps again.

I bank at Premier West and Southern Oregon Federal Credit Union where the Coinstars are free.

nice find! i remember my 1st...and dont worry, over time you'll get better and be able to spot a silver by the rim no matter what...it comes naturally overtime. and yes, some members buy bags of dimes, or other denominations for that matter, and drive directly to a bank w/ a counter that rejects silver, and pour it in, and scoop the silver out of the reject tray...ive been trying to get that type of connection set up, and i believe im getting close...keep it up and hh!
