We have been blessed so far this winter not to have had any snow, but I guess all good things must come to an end. Its a balmy :tongue3: 16 degrees outside right now with about four inches of snow on the ground. Hopefully this won't last long! I am just glad we didn't get that ice that our neighbors east of us did.
Here's some pictures of the deer in the snow---Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking! Everybody stay warm!!!

I could probably handle the snow a little better if we didn't have these bitterly cold temps! Now on top of everything else, our water just froze up >:( , even though I left the faucets dripping.
Stay warm, Fossis!!

Great pictures ,too bad the one has a broken brow tine. Funny how some of the smaller ones have lost one side already. DOES THE ONE ON THE FAR RIGHT MISSING ONE ALSO.

The one that is farthest to the right, still has both of his horns. A couple of the other ones in that bunch have dropped one side.
The one with the broken brow tine is the buck we call "Cicatriz"....He's the one who is missing an eye(left side). He stays in this area and every year is seems like he breaks that brow tine off. He likes to fight! That's probably what caused him to lose his eye.
Thanks etrac007!

Nice heard of bucks :o I see that one of them has a broken rack. Nice pics, thanks for sharing them :icon_sunny:

The one you said has the broken rack, is a buck that has already shed his horns on one side(I think). Seems like the younger bucks shed first, crazyjarhead. Most of the more mature bucks still have their horns. They should all start dropping their horns pretty quick, because the rut is pretty much over. And I think once their testoterone levels drop, the horns will start falling off.
Thank you  glad you enjoyed the pics!!

Great pic's SC  I bet you don't have to go far to do any shed hunting.Probably in another month here in Md.Here's a couple pic's of my shed carving's i've done.

Very healthy looking bucks
Thanks Mike :hello: !! They are pretty healthy looking----Lots of natural forage and the corn we put out keeps them that way.

No, we ususally don't have to go very far to find sheds, civilman. Sometimes they even drop their horns right out by where we feed them. Last year I went out to feed one evening and found three horns right on the feed line. That was pretty cool. And sometimes we find sheds where they cross under the fence or the in the draw where they bed down(north of our house).
Those carvings you did are gorgeous! I need to get more crafty and make something with our sheds.
Thanks for the comments!!!

Hey civilman1 those carvings are cool :icon_thumleft: I really like the dolphins :hello2:

Thanks, Evy They do look kinda purdy standing in the snow, huh?.....I sure hope that bad weather their predicting misses us, don't you? Looks like Tulsa and southward is supposed to get the ice and we're supposed to get the snow(5-10 inches!) :o . I also heard the temps are supposed to be near '0' degrees over night Wednesday! This kind of weather is sure hard on the animals.....I often wonder how anything can survive outside in those dangerous low temps.
Take care and stay warm :hello: .

Ooooppps My mistake I heard them say this was Alaska earlier..... 20 below with wind chill ! I will take snow over the ice anyday for any where in the state ! We need the snow for the moisture though! It is soooo dry !
Keep postin Josie's snow pics but stay safe an warm !
Evy
