Found at the mill site in between that and 1901 house. I was combing in between the small corn stalks that were left. Glad I went low and slow.

Thank you, wasn't sure when I pulled it out of ground I knew it wasn't a button or a washerGood save on the tax token-congrats on the first.
I've used one of my Andre's pencils to get some of the thick rust globs off, and it's in the ultra sonic cleaner. I've never used electrolysis. I probably should one some of my iron objectsCongrats on your first Tax Token !
It's up to you but ...
I've had good results cleaning Tax and other Aluminum Tokens by using an Electrolysis Bath.
It's easy, safe and very inexpensive to make one.
It's iron, it's probably some kind of knobNice job on that tax token Nathan.
I learned something new. I thought Mississippi tax tokens were pull tabs.
What is that item in your hand that looks like a propeller? Is it a faucet valve knob?
Congrats,
MM
