Garrett Ace 300

Metal Detecting
So I purchased a Garret Ace 300, and it came in today. Now, I have gone on hunts with friends, but never with my own detector. I went around my yard and pulled up a few things. My first find was a penny followed by the lead piece in my hand in the second photo (not sure what it is). I also found some trash, an old electric motor, and a jumper cable clamp lol

Keep diggin' ! Lots more to come!

It's official...you're hooked!

It was fun, for sure. I've been speaking with another local hunter and we are planning on meeting up and hitting up a local beach along the river and a large lake. He went out for 45 minutes two days ago and found several nice items in that short amount of time. He invited me to meet up with him to see what we can find.

The lead piece is a bullet.

Found my first button. I got this out of my yard. I didn't see any distinctive markings, but it was cool to find.20180320_193931.webp20180320_193927.webp

My first finds with my Ace were very similar. A 1978 penny, an axe head, and LOTS of aluminum cans. Looks like you are well on your way to learning what your machine is telling you, and what it is capable of. Keep it up, your doing great!

A little better picture of the front of the button. If anyone has any idea what it may be I'd appreciate the knowledge.20180320_200412.webp
