Detector(s) used
Fisher F75 LTD, Deteknix Scuba Tector
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
My wife is upset that I spent so much time detecting, but I had to put it to the test. I hit 2 fields that I had hit hard and careful with my GT. The first was the site of an old plantation. Lots of junk. Early on, I found a rivet. I then found what appears to be a CW bullet, these were found in areas that I had hit with the GT previously. The other field I had hit hard with the GT in the past also. I found some interesting metal pieces among all of the junk. Then I tried kicking the disc up to 65 max and shortly thereafter I found a wheatie. I was using the 11" coil the whole time. It was fun to hit some tough areas that I have hit hard with the GT, and able to come up with a few goodies with the LTD. I have alot to learn yet, but am quite hopeful with the LTD.

The F75 coil is like a razor! Really can pick through targets and gets deep! Keep us posted on how you do!

Thanks, this really is different from the detecting I am accustomed to. The F-75 chatters alot, and thanks to youtube videos showing that this is normal, I am adjusting to that. It seems that true signals pop out more prominently than the chatter. I am aware of lowering sensitivity if I need to, but Bill Ladd's video clearly shows that chatter is normal at higher sensitivity levels and you must get accustomed to it. Time is my biggest enemy, as it is tough to get out with responsibilities at home.

I hear you with the wife thing sometimes some times there the most annoying pests!

Gilligan,
Be sure and select the best frequency on you machine also. That will help quiet it down a lot. Here is a good link with tons of useful info in it to read when your bored.

Thanks alot, I never considered that, I will check it out.

Try using the 5inch coil when in trashy areas the difference is night and day compared to the 11inch. only downfall is the tighter swings to find the targets. HH

I have never tried the small coil, and I have been in some serious trash areas. I will have to give it a try, thanks.
