ok.. I have a "loaner" TDI.. after a quick glance at the "Hand on Instructions..." and a few swings in my backyard I headed back out to my new site. First thing.. NO interference!! I have to assume the fence was off. I only took the TDI... left the DFX and V3i at home to "force" myself to learn the TDI. Wow!! In a little over an hour I dug 40 + pieces of iron.. I managed two deep 3 ringers and could hardly tell the difference until I got them out of the holes. I dug one interesting piece of iron.. I know I have seen it someplace?? and kept a nail to represent the other 39 or so I threw away... the machine has great promise.. with the ground as dry as it is.. the bullets were ringing loud and clear at 8" to 10" I read that some people felt like it was swinging a brick but it felt fine to me..

Monkey Boy, I've hunted at almost every Diggin In Virginia Invitational and NOTHING holds a candle to the TDI up there in that Red Irony Soil! You're

going to clean up with that badboy up there! I watched my buddy Chris Manganos personally ping on an eagle button at about 12 INCHES with that

thang. For those of you that don't know, 12 inches anywhere is impressive but 12 inches up there is Unbelievable, especially when the F-75 could barely

here them at 3 inches..... People always go up there with the expectation of 'tearin' up the relics with there machines but when they get there they

discover that its a WHOLE new ballgame. Shoot, I bet you can go back to that small camp that you dug all those plates and find quite a few more things

with that bad boy!! :icon_thumleft:

Lucky for me, my little slice of Virginia has pretty good soil... just pockets of the dreaded red soil! This is very local.. when we head out any distance.. say 10 miles... it gets nasty! pretty cool machine, sort of reminds me of the 5900/6000 days!! ;-) I keep going for the pinpoint toggle!!! ;-) Going to take some getting use to.. and I would probably wrap it around a tree if I ever tried to hunt close to a house site with it... but these "dug out" camps... it should be great!!! It is hot on buttons.. my buddy has been popping them by the handfuls with it!!! ;-)

That's impressive depth, I would like to try one in this dry TN soil at some camps that I have hunted out.

Congrats.

So I see you did it!!! First few relics with the TDI. That fence must have been off. I was ready to wrap it around a tree the other day over there. I still struggle with the iron and the bullets sounding the same to me. But it sure has produced some awesome buttons.

Great dude. I hear those bullets and iron sound alot alike. Now let's see the brass.

I have not used my MXT but once or twice in over a year since I got the TDI.
