Fisher 1212-X won't stay on

I have a new Fisher F4 coming in Tuesday but, I have a Fisher 1212-X that hasn't been used in a while. The problem with it is when I turn it on, I hear a quick chirp and then silence and it seems like it turns off. Any ideas ? I've checked carefully for broken or loose wiring and checked the battery connections. Nothing seems out of place.

Hi, It sounds like a faulty electrolytic capacitor in the power supply section.....Hope this helps.....JJ
