Found this about 4 inches down thought it was a wire when i first saw it . Anyone know how old it might be , the rod isnt fiberglass.

Wow.... that bring's back memory's. That's exactly like the one my grandfather bought for me, as my first, back in the fifties. As I recall, it was an Allstate brand and he bought it at a Western Auto store. Strange though, I remember the steel rod being better for hitting my brother than for fishing!!
