Broke my 12" coil ears off a few weeks back and put it back together with some blocks of plastic and some tie wraps. I cut the blocks with table saw and tie wrapped to the top end of the coil. my thoughts were that this would be better balanced. Other than a little added weight, seems pretty good. I like it that the coil is better balanced. At least I can still use the coil!
