Flat Button Question

I found this flat button under a couple of rocks at the end of a stone wall the other day. The loop has broken off, but I noticed that the loop was soldered on. This is the first button I found that had a soldered loop and I was wondering if this feature dates it to pre 1800? The back mark says PLATED on one side of the loop and it has 5 "stars" (more like asterisks) in a semi circle on the other side of the loop. There is also a wreath around the border of the back. The button measures about 7/8". Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

1st - I searched

and found Old Button - Unknown backmark and design (Feb 25, 2008, 08:39 PM). The back side looks similar to your button and has some good information.

2nd - I moved this request from Today's Finds! over to Our Discoveries > What Is It? for more exposure.
