I found this flat button under a couple of rocks at the end of a stone wall the other day. The loop has broken off, but I noticed that the loop was soldered on. This is the first button I found that had a soldered loop and I was wondering if this feature dates it to pre 1800? The back mark says PLATED on one side of the loop and it has 5 "stars" (more like asterisks) in a semi circle on the other side of the loop. There is also a wreath around the border of the back. The button measures about 7/8". Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. 001.webp003.webp
