Flat Buttons by Dale Hollow Lake

Found two flat buttons yesterday in Tennesse around dale hollow lake. Area search was near and old cemetery and a old spring where a spring house was told existed. The buttons are flat on front with eagle above shank with what appears to be 5 stars around shank. Shank appears to be soldered on with no cast mark. Cannot find anything online to date or see if military. Any suggestions?

Very hard to see as I toothpicked them and put rennasance wax on them to bring out detail. They are small so likely cuff buttons. Had to use good magnification to see eagle. Stars barely visible around shank with naked eye. Will post a couple more photos of backs…

Excellent effort. Someone may be able to sort it out now. If not, I will look in my book tomorrow, but some really sharp folks on here so somebody likely help you.
