Flim flam man

I found this woman's wide ring today in North Central Ohio while detecting a late 1800's Homesite. It's marked 18k but only has a couple very small spots of gold left on it. I'm fairly certain that it was a scam ring and I'm looking for some additional information of any kind. Thanks !

Welcome to tnet take it to a jeweler/ The ground can do funny things . Here in Michigan silver coins come out like they were dropped the day before and clad coins come out really dark. Check to be sure Thanks for the post!!!!!!
