I think this may be a flint from a flintlock musket or pistol, but I have no idea. What say you all?

Agree. It also doesn't look like flint. It's strongly stratified, suggesting it's more likely slate, shale or something in that territory.

The gunflints were made of higher quality material so the owner could get a good spark off them.
