This looks like a flintlock hammer to me, but I'm not really that familiar with guns (except for the .38 S&W in my purse :laughing7:, ) so any help would be appreciated. Breezie

It is shaped like a hammer but I'm thinking more like a latch. Is that a "Lady Smith" in your purse? Tony

definitely not a hammer, I'd say latch as well. the striking end of a percussion hammer would be flat, and a flintlock would have a clamp mechanism to hold the flint.

Thanks for the RSVP's; I figured it wasn't a hammer, but wanted to make sure. I'd go with latch too, which looks quite fancy to be iron.

Tony, yes, and it lives beside my lipstick! ;D Breezie
